Scott, thank you for that. Maybe I just need to get out and have more fun. I won't pass up an opportunity to try it in pleasant company. :)

I've tried it...not the Beatles one, but other ones. The difference is when you play a real guitar (or bass, in my case) the note comes right on the beat. I was early on EVERYTHING. My 17-year old daughter is laughing at me trying to play songs, and failing. Then I pick up the REAL bass and play it, and she is totally perplexed. Why doesn't it work the same, she asks? But she can do it, and I can't. It makes her happy. :)

Steve, I know what you mean.

There are some things to help you though. RB has calibration settings to adjust for the music being out of sync with the stuff you're seeing on the screen. If you use the default settings, it's likely you'll have issues of timing due to the calibration settings.

I know I had this issue early on when I didn't know about it.

Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere.

looking at the rack of JL Rics in the first picture, all I can say is that it's a good job I don't work for Rickenbacker.
I'm so clumsy I could guarantee you I would knock that lot over without even being anywhere near them!

My roomate laughed at me when I said I wouldn't buy it. "Naw, why would I get it when I can play it for real on guitar and bass???" I got it and three months later he's still laughing at me! "Told YA!!!"

Someone posted earlier that Rock Band was hard for musicians-SO TRUE!!! I absolutely SUCK at guitar in this game! I truly fell in love with it when I got the drum set(With the triple cymbol expansion to make it more "real"). You actually need to play as a drummer! It isn't all-blue, red, red, orange, green, green. Ok, it is! BUT it's really high-hat, high-hat, snare, ride, crash...All the while getting the bass drum in there. A lot more immersion into the game than the guitars. Yeah, it's not 100% drumming. No high-hat pedal(That would've been cool). It does get confusing hitting the ride(blue) to play an open high-hat but, it IS a toy!!! I play everything on expert. I'm NO EXPERT, but in the lower difficulties its just weird just hitting every OTHER note!

I'm not a great drummer, lived with one for six years, so I learned some stuff. I'd say, I'm between beginner and advanced.(Got Five Gold Stars-100% Expert playing "Getting Better", though!). By the way, my old drummer roomate......SUCKS at this game!!! So true..........

OH, I'm SO GLAD IT WASN'T JUST ME Steve!

My kids were laughing at my expense too, and I'm like.....c'mon, this isn't right!

Talk about a cash cow huh? I ended up buying it because my son wanted it. I really stink at it..lol. However, I'm very impressed with all of the detail put into this game. They did a great job.

*btw*....off topic, how do you guys put Santa hats on your avatar pics??? :D

Hey Scott,

That was Joey's "Rickenbrother"'s doing...

I believe he did all if not most of them!

We still can't get the Rick or Gretsch down here, just the Hofner controller.

I love this game, and it actually helps me learn some of the tougher bass parts of Beatles tracks.

Recommended in conjunction with the Complete Scores book, and also (possibly) shows when the Hofner or Ric was used by Macca.

I love playing this game at parties. Whenever I play at home I just think I'd be happier practicing on a real instrument.

My kids love it:

And I have to say, I do, too. Not pushing the buttons, per se, although, initially, I did. But celebrating the music of the Beatles with my friends and family is great fun, and the game has clearly been designed with a lot of love and attention.

Good news everyone... the encryption has finally been cracked, and the mogg files have been leaked. This will settle a lot of Beatles related arguments, I'm sure. It's a lot more fun playing with the multitrack isolations than any Rock Band game could ever be. :)
Great Ramp In My Opinion.
