Putting Robot guts in a Rick?

There are no wires in the neck on a Robot, so I'm not sure why you'd need to remove a fretboard. Nor would you have to do any routing to the body, as I'm sure the battery, etc would fit under the pickguard.

From looking at it, the challenges I see:
Would the contacts for the tuning pegs-to-brain 'reach' on a Ric headstock, and assuming they wouldn't how to extend them.
What to do with the bridge, although you could use the gibson bridge I guess.
How to get the electronics in the tail under a Ric R-tail.
How to extend the wiring to make it fit on a Ric body. The Gibson wires don't seem to have much slack...

If you would be OK with a Ric with a stop tail it would make it easier. And uglier....

It would be cool though. Very cool!

Well, there's one set of wires right there...and if the brain is in the body, there's more, and more. Seems like the neck is the obvious place to put a channel.

Yes, there's got to be something to get the power up there to run the motors. There are ways to send data/control signals over the power wires, so the minimum would likely be 2 wires run up the neck. You could play games with using strings or the truss rods as one wire and get it down to a single wire, but that could prove more problematic than it's worth...

If you watch the installation videos for the boxed version its clear that there isn't any wiring in the neck. The videos show installation on a standard strat - no drilling, no routing. The power is sent via the strings of the guitar.

The are also some breakdown videos and photos that show this pretty clearly...
