Fretboard finish question
Hi all, I have a 2008 Jetglo 330 that I love. My question is for those who have older instruments. Does the fretboard finish wear with the guitar, or does it always stay even after years of playing? I know the finish on maple Fender necks wears after time, but I have heard that the Ric finish is much more durable. Thanks for any info

Re: Fretboard finish question
I would think it would depend on the kind of strings used and the playing style.

I can only speak for my own, 23 years and still shiny. Lots of playing time, no obvious signs of wear.

Re: Fretboard finish question
I've been using D'Addario XL110s as long as I can remember and Picato UL-77s before that, and I am starting to see areas in the first 3 frets where the finish has etched away on my 330/6. It doesn't affect the feel or playability, as far as I can tell, unless the very slow progress has given me the 'boiling frog' effect.
