Dot, Live recording show, San Diego 1-12-10

It is my band Dot's first gig in two+ years. In that time we lost half the band to busy lives but have since gained two others who are equally great. Musically, I can't pin us down, never could. It is heavy, driving, prog influenced-pop-art-satire-n-roll or other. Our drummer beats the **** out of his drums, we play odd times, the Rickenbacker is mean and angry at something or someone unseen, you can't dance to it but it sure is loud and fun. We're recording the show live & taking video & the theme is HAL 9000's birthday. I'll have both my turquoise 330 & my FG 370WB with the piezo. Hope to see you at the Radio Room! Well just a week to go and Dot rehearsal sounds great! We even wrote a new song about quantum mechanics "Cat In A Box" which will first see the light of day at the gig. Looks like I''ll be using the turquoise 330 with the Roland synth pickup primarily. I'm using the guitarsynth for a few numbers now. The 370 is due for a re-fret but will be there if I break a string. Once we have the video edited I'll post a link.

Well the recording part didn't happen...the guy who was going to record us ran into some problems & couldn't get to the show...bummer, but we'll get it next time. We have a short snippet of video of an experimental piece that we used as an intro before our first song. This is all the video I could get since the battery ran out of the viewer's camera and despite saying "Yes, I'll tape or record your show," very few people will actually show up anywhere at 10:30 on a Tuesday night much less a band's comeback show. Oh well next time we will have more crew there to catch more of the action. I'm using my 330 equipped with a Roland GR-30 guitar synth run through an Alesis AirFx.
