A White Christmas...

Post by cjj »

Well, we're all set for a white Christmas here on the Northern Plains of Montana. It's up to a balmy -10F and we've got a fair amount of snow on the ground:

Covered the truck fairly well...

Luckily, the drive way isn't too hard to "shovel out", hardly took any time at all...

Of course, when the "shovel" looks like this...

Well, I hope everyone has a great Christmas, Solstice, or whatever other holiday you wish to celebrate. And those of you where it gets cold, try to stay warm!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Yep, they still have some snow up there. That's our version of a white Christmas in So Cal.

Sleet that we're currently having here in NE Kansas is supposed to turn to snow sometime late tonight or the wee hours of Christmas morning. The turkey is on the smoker and everything is just about done. Merry Christmas to all.

We got ours here in NE Kansas. This doesn't happen too many years in a row.

Ditto for the Denver, Colorado area. We got snow Tuesday night and Wednesday (5 to 7 inches).

The front came thru Houston yesterday morning; thunderstorms and gusty winds (+30 mph). This morning we have clear sunny skies with the temp in the uppers 30s (it was in the 70s on Wednesday).

It snowed like the devil here in Fort Worth. This is the most snow we've had here on Christmas in 70 plus years...It was shirt-sleeve weather here Wednesday afternoon. Crazy stuff...

I got a Rickenbacker strap and a Vox t-shirt for Christmas. Hurray!

A friend of mine in Fort Worth sent me photos this morning of his house and yard! He told me it took 30 minutes for his daughter to drive 4 miles in a Dodge Durango 4x4 due to the ice everywhere.

Sounds like great summer doin's Aitch. Some of these days I gotta get down to Oz and see how you folks celebrate the Summer Solstice/Christmas. Throw a few shrimps on the barbie and all that, I suppose.

We drove in the worst of it on Christmas Eve about 11:00 PM...People were sliding all over the place. I don't know why people attempt to do jackrabbit starts when the road is solid ice. It took us about an hour to go 10 miles or so. But we didn't slide at all :)
