Nice! Ben Orr was super cool! I have a copy of the Cars' firrst album on vinyl with his signature on it.

he switched from the ricky,sniff...sniff, to a sunburst w/white pg musicman stingray. that rick and c.f.turner's rick in the all/black with chrome accents looked cool. anyone have a circus mag from '75-'76 stating bto was in texas with a pic of turner with that type of rick. i remember the caption...stuck in my brain after all the women problems. lol.

that rick looks like a deluxe...did they have the black pickguard in early '73 ? probably did if they did the white ones with black binding. looks like a harley eagle above his pick hand.

For those who don't know, Ben died in 2000 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 53.

We listened to my wife's "Best of the Cars" CD a few times on the way to/from Moab back in September. Good stuff.

I remember The Car's trying to tour with Todd Rundgren a few years ago, but I don't see how it is The Car's without Orr and Ric Ocasek.

I was a big Ben Orr fan, most dont know his "secret weapon" in the studio was a Vox teardrop hollowbody. Saw him use it live too.
