I use acrylic nails for fingerpicking my Martin and they can't be beat for a natural, comfortable feel. Plus you can paint 'em in pretty colors.

What fingernails?

I use a thumb pick and two metal finger picks.

Alex is a great guitarist; I first found out about him in the mid '80s and have a couple of his CDs.
