Ric-O-Sound Volume Pedal?

Post by docholliday »

O.K., I have a seductively new midnight blue 370/12 with vintage pickups and Ric-O-Sound. Cool so far.

I'll be running this baby through two Fender Cyber Twins (when they arrive). Still cool.

But what volume pedal can I use to put between the R.O.S. box and my 370/12? The guitar cord plug from the R.O.S. is tip ring sleeve (aka stereo or balanced, right?), so theoretically I'd need a stereo volume pedal that has one stereo input jack and one stereo output jack, not a 1-to-2 configuration.

Help!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check again.

Finding a "stereo" volume pedal is no sweat. George Dennis makes a few as well.

The catch is finding a stereo volume pedal that's single-jack input AND single-jack output. All the pedals I've seen so far are single-jack in but 2-jack (mono left and right) out.

Will let you know.

If the Ernie pedal does not do what you want it to do ,then to modify it would be fairly easy.

If you are ALWAYS in stereo ,and this is onlt for this particular guitar ...it should work fine .Also if you run mono guitars (the vast majority of instruments) this would still work.

I modified one of these pedals so that I could use the switch to turn off the output (no sound) and turn on my tuner ,thereby not driving everyone crazy with that racket of noise.
I have one jack that does not do anything ...so far no complaints of boredom from it .

I checked out the Ernie Ball pedal at their site. Specs say it'll do exactly what I want for the Ric-O-Sound.

Plus, it'll work great in splitting other mono guitars to output to the two Cyber Twins simultaneously.

Will let you know after 1) I get the pedal and 2) get the Cyber Twins (they're due next month).

Of course, now that I have the 370/12 I'm dying to have a 370 6-string as well. Image
