"For almost his entire time with Queen, John has remained faithful to Precision basses, although at one stage he did try a Rickenbacker because as he says "I used to like Chris Squire". However, he had problems recording with it and eventually went back to his tried and trusted Fender."

John Deacon,s bass playing has always been overlooked IMO. I read years ago he couldn,t get on with the Ric. Hey, there,s a lot of those people out there that can,t....I,m a big Queen fan. Their stuff from the mid 70,s is simply brilliant in terms of composition. The harmonies, lyrics and 4 very talented musicians created a sound that we haven,t heard since. My two boys , one graduated this year from college, one will be a junior in college, they BOTH love QUEEN's music.....
Funny thing is , neither one of them have ever seen Queen in concert or on a video...they just loved the music.....I remember when they were little and playing "Fat bottomed girls" and "Bicycle" for them the first time..... LOL

A small 1500 seater that had the crowd packed like sardines and hanging over the upstairs balconies. I was right at the front and the place was so hot dozens passed out before they come on. They blew the place apart that night. Met Brian and John after the gig. They stopped and talked for some 15 mins to fans outside. Very cool of them I thought. Freddie ran straight to the limo and left, and Roger was buried under about a dozen girls as he fought his way into his...
