yeah I have to laugh at these goofy "show a picture of you with your Rickenbacker threads", we are a bunch of kids...my bass player makes me play his bass so he can set across from me and look at his bass
Im setting here listening to Lets Active, anybody else set around listening to Rickenbacker artist when theyre in a Rickenbacker playing period? Im sick

LOL.... Before we built the back addition on our house I used to play my guitars in what is now the guest room, and it had mirrored closet doors. When I played my Rics I thought they boosted my coolness factor considerably....
I guess I got over it.

Tommy - I must confess that I, too, am afflicted with The Sickness. (from here on out to be known as 'The Rickness') When I'm too busy to play my bass because I'm working on retouching & graphic design jobs, I invite my roommate to come play it so I can at least hear it!
Meli - I don't think your Rick-enhanced coolness factor has worn off one bit!

Maybe not.... but at least I've stopped watching myself play my Rics in the mirror, LOL!walker wrote:Meli - I don't think your Rick-enhanced coolness factor has worn off one bit!
Playing a Ric automatically boosts one's coolness factor a hundredfold....
Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
Rob cool shots - love the washed one - neat.
The Rickness is what it is... you have one and play it, you just look so damned cool - if you can't play it you have some one else do it just because it looks so cool and its yours.... "yeah that's a nice bass - its mine....." I think we all have it to one extent or another.

It's like the tree falling in the forest analogy - you're still cool even if you're not watching how cool you are.melibreits wrote:Maybe not.... but at least I've stopped watching myself play my Rics in the mirror, LOL!

Is your bassist's stack knob Jazz Bass an old one or a reissue?

Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
very old reissue. maybe early 80's
Re: Picture of you playing your Ric...part 2
I used to have a '03 AV '62 Jazz Bass. It sounded great but the neck was a bit of a mess; the truss rod was maaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxed out and it still had too much relief in it, even with a bushing behind the TR nut. I bought the bass new and sold it a few months later because of the neck.
