Forgot to mention that along with the Hofner, I received a Bigsby B7 that's now installed on my sunburst Casino, Harrison-style. The install was a little nerveracking as I took my drill to the top of the guitar, but the results are awesome.
Re: Best Piece of Gear I Got For Christmas
Having just got back from taking my family camping for a week, i was down in a little seaside country Victorian town called Wonthaggi. My father was born there. A small guitar shop, thought i'd enter. An Epiphone John Lennon EJ-160E. Starting price AU$699. The pickup didn't work, but by the end of the week, it came home with me for AU$300. Plays beautifully as just a strait acoustic, will sort the electrics out at a later date.

Har, Collin! Yeah, should prolly just call it a 360 OS replica...or just an OS-does it matter if it doesn't have X bracing inside? It sounds like it does-it's a super light and resonant guitar, and the neck is quite slim.collin wrote:JakeK wrote:
I'm IN LOVE with your new 360WBOSSPC thingy.
See, now I've gone cross-eyed. What a mouthful
The guitar sounded and played fantastic at rehearsal on Wednesday, though I'm not used to it yet. I'm much more familiar and comfortable playing "Big Red".
Glad you like..er love the guitar Jake. You could probably have one just like it; find a road weary 330, save up some $, and ship it off, and wait a couple years, and WHAMMO!!!
Re: Best Piece of Gear I Got For Christmas

No, not the guitar..........the capo !!!
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.
Re: Best Piece of Gear I Got For Christmas
Do tell David whats with the Capo? Light and made from graphite.Show us how you made it.Its like Blue Peter on the RRF.Can you make a Amp from a toilet roll ,tin foil and double sided sticky tape?

Re: Best Piece of Gear I Got For Christmas
Thanks guys. Where have I been??, well, I'm not sure really. Time seems to move on & what used to be the norm gradualy changes for no particular reason...if you know what I mean. The big change to me is that I have given up my own band & am currently looking for a bass players position in a suitable local band. Letting someone else take all the hassle, whilst I get down to the fun part of playing my 4003FG, seems quite appealing at the moment...

Good move, Tony.

Pop in for tea when you're next in the area.

Hey welcome back Tony!
I was in Teignmouth last November having tea and cake in the promenade cafe wondering if you were playing that weekend. Are you looking to play bass in a blues band?
Is that shipwreck still on the little beach at Shaldon?
Are you still painting?
