Are you like the weatherman in L.A. Story?

Our plan is to leave the coats in the car at the airport, but coming home they will be awfully cold! A locker may be a better idea.
I'm more concerned about you going through withdrawals on the airplane from not being able to post on the forum.
If Jeff flies on SW he may get one of the wi-fi equipped planes...otherwise there's the party cart! 8)

I'm looking forward to a few days of warmth myself!

Ross, are you going to the show, or at least going to be out there this week?

Glad it's a little warmer CJ, hopefully the weather will stay that way for you. :D

And that wouldn't be the Bay of Islands on your current avatar, would it???

It's nice to get a break from the sub-zero weather for a bit, but January 10 is pretty early to be expecting warmer weather to last long. Typically, January & February are the coldest months here, so I'm betting we'll be in for some more cold days.

Luckily, the sheep decided to start their lambing during this warm spell, and it's supposed to stay warm for the rest of the week, so we may get lucky on that too. :D

Oh, and yes, you are correct in your identification of my avatar pic!

No, heading on a west coast swing on the 18th...starting in Seattle. Then on to SoCal late the 20th through the 26th. I'll wave as our planes pass on the 17th!

Here in the South of England, we are not used to all this snow. We had just under a foot of snow. I live in a village which eventually grew up to serve Waddesdon Manor, the home of the bankers the Rothschild. This is 3 mins walk from my house:
The Manor in the snow

Aitch was here in the summer and it didn't look quite like this then. Please refer to his summer holiday thread.

I trundled off to school today about 6.50 to be phoned on the way to say we would open at 11.00 because of the road conditions, so I went home. I got to school about 10.30 and they had had to close due to the coaches not being able to get down the roads to collect the girls!! We are on the top of a hill and down a long narrow lane, so it is very dicey!

Why does England fall apart when it snows? I bet schools in Montana were open as normal and the snow plough was out and all the roads were gritted.

Now the forecast has been changed for a bit cooler weather and possible rain on Wednesday. Would you out-of-towners stop bringing the weather with, when you come to SoCal!!

Very nice pics, Sarah! The snow makes some pretty scenery.

Oh yes, Aitch liked my pad......

....if only this was it. :(

Yeah and why are we so blinking useless. We never stop talking about the weather, but we can't cope when it throws something slightly different at us.

Ho hum.

At least there wouldn't be heaps of screaming, snotty-nosed kids in the playgrounds down near the cafe!!

Speaking of temperatures, 109F here yesterday and it still 90F+ at 6am!

I guess, here in Montana, we can cope with just about anything, -56F in the winter, lots of snow, blowing and drifting. 110F or more in the summer, thunderstorms, hail storms (often with 2 inch or larger diameter hail  ), the occasional tornado. When it's warm enough to go outside and actually enjoy it, there are more mosquitoes than you can believe, and they're nothing compared to the deer flies, those suckers HURT!

Hmm, just why the heck do I even live here????

Mostly cheap land/house prices. Of course, they are cheap because nobody really wants to live here... :?
