HB1 Bridge pickup on a 350V63

Post by curtisongs »

I've been thinking about adding a Ric humbucker in the bridge position on my 2002 350V63. I had a Hoffs for awhile and loved this pickup configuration. I know the toasters are wound differently since the Hoffs model was made and wonder about the balance between the neck and middle pickups and the HB1 in the bridge position. Has anyone tried this combination?

I have tried this combination on my 350. While I enjoyed the humbucking sound, there was considerable difference in balance between the whisper quite humbucker and the relatively louder toasters. I even through high gains into the mix.

In the end, I settled for three toasters with a rewired fifth knob for the middle pickup volume. My two cents.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
