A very special guest!

Post by melibreits »

Just spent a lovely evening entertaining a very special guest, Wendy McAlpine, the daughter of RRF member Shane McAlpine.... in this small small world, she has come all the way from Australia to work at a lodge about 25 miles from our home in Grand Marais, Minnesota! Although we really didn't spend much time with the guitars, I couldn't resist taking this picture before taking her back to the lodge.

Good on ya, Mel.

I hope she is getting used to a Minny winter! Break out the hot chocolate.

Melissa: Thanks for this great post that warms the heart and feeds the soul. This is RRF networking in action.

Thanks to Melissa and Marc for their hospitality, it is very much appreciated. :D

And yes it is a very small world.

She had a wonderful evening there and even saw four moose on the way back to the lodge!!!

Looks good with the SH, but unfortunately Wendy can't play a note, just like her old man.

This is what the RRF is really all about. :D

Teach Wendy how to play so she can show up the old man when she goes home.

Yes, we had a terrific time, and I hope she can come again in the next couple of weeks... She has traveled a lot, and we had lots to talk about--I am glad to have made another new friend from down under! :D

That had to have been a great time. It's always neat to have forum members and their families get together.

How cool is that! Thanks for the picture and kudos on your hospitality. It warms a parent's heart. I've a similar experience with Mike G and my daughter in AZ. :)
