I prefer a heavier string, and RIC has a set S-106 in their boutique that is 12-16-24W-32-42-54. Seems good to me, but my experience with the 650D nut is that these won't fit into the string guides. What guitar are these made for? Can they be used on the 650D?
I tried to widen my string guides on the existing nut and managed to (inadvertently) lower the A string a hair, so now I have a buzz. I'll be replacing the nut, but I'd like to tackle this properly and solve the problem.
Thanks!

Strings for 650D
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

To use a heavier string in a 650, you'll need to widen the nut slots.
Ka is a wheel.
Re: Strings for 650D
I use GHS Brite Flats in my 650D. They are available in 10,11 and 12 gauge sets and are constructed similarly to the Ric strings: round wound then ground down to gauge. They really ring.
You may be able to salvage your nut by adding a drop of super glue to partially fill the over-ambitious slot. If I have to file a nut, i always put a dull knife flat against the first fret to prevent overshooting the mark.
Nuts are not that expensive from the Ric boutique. May as well order 2 to have a spare on hand in case you decide to go back to thinner strings.
The GHS Brite Flats and just about any other string can be had mail order from JustStrings.com
