I'm Probably Once Again the Last Person to Notice

Post by electrofaro »

It must be so, yesterday the telly was on VH-1 Classic and the Rembrandts' "I'll Be There for You" Friends-song video came on.
My sister who was visiting suddenly said: hey, Rickenbackers. And I'm like, realy???

I've seen this video quite a few times and always missed Ricks which were in plain site?

So, what else did I miss that I'll only notice by myself in a decade or so???

Considering your location, Werner, you'd probably known sooner if it had been Rembrandt, and not the Rembrandts.

Anecdote:

Rembrandt must still be alive. As a student I used to come by the house he was born in every day. It has a plaque stating "Rembrandt was born here". The building's from the early 1990s.

It's OK Werner. This came along during my rock'n'roll blackout period when I was busy playing other kinds of music. There are some good things I missed along the way. And this is one of them. I like the sound, and I like the song. And the video is cute, too.

I wouldn't even know from which year this song is... *wikipedia* '95? That's Monster era for me...

It's a song I neither love nor hate... I have a weird relationship with it - I really don't know if I should love or hate it... or both... at least it brings on an emotion as opposed to none at all :D

This much I know about the song; that it was the theme song for a US hit TV sitcom called "Friends." It was the show that made Jennifer Aniston a house hold name here. The show debuted in 1994.

A series I never got, as I never thought it was funny... I don't even have a tv anymore - nothing interesting on tv at all these days!

I'd like to know where wikipedia got that bit about offering the song to R.E.M. - They Might Be Giants Knowlede Base??? Is that a source one can trust 100%?

Let's not list all the uninteresting things on the telly

Anyone know if the Rembrandts always use Ricks? I couldn't find an answer on the net.

The 360 looks like a knock-off.
