Good Grief, Charlie Brown! Rick content!
Here's a blast from the past. I sheepishly admit that I wore out this single (hey, I was ten!). The cool part of this is that they're not lipsynching and the rick comes through loud and clear. Can't make out what kind of bass that is or recognize what the lead singer is playing. But this was a very popular single for The Royal Guardsmen and charted well.

Even though this song was released in my youth, I can't recall how many times I played it on the air, years, decades after its release.Arrgh.
Can't tell what geetar he's playing, but do you know where they came up with the groups name?

This from Wikipedia:
The article states that they are currently still performing.Originally known as the Posmen, the band adopted their anglophile monicker during the British Invasion, led by The Beatles and other British artists.

The name Royal Guardsmen, was dubbed by the lead singer, Barry Winslow (I think). He took the name from his amp, a Vox Royal Guardsman. And since it was a band it became, Guardsmen

Dr. Demento used to spin this one regularly. It has become, for better or worse, a cult classic.

And, of course, the sequel:

I think there's even a recent follow-up called "Snoopy vs. Osama".
Talk about milking it!

The singer's guitar is a Burns-Baldwin, probably from '67-'68. They were featured in a series of articles in Vintage Guitar within the last 4-5 months. For you 12-ers, take a look for the Burns Double Six. I've seen one in a Zombies vid and Elvis was pictured with one.

I remember it well, I still have the single!!!!!
Certainly received a lot of airplay here, but the "Bloody" was censored out, replaced by a beep.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
