360s Tremelo questions . . .

Post by pfflam »

Hi,

I am wondering about 360s with trems and have a few questions:

Are Bigsbys thought to devalue a 360?

Do the B-5s fit nicely?
Do they change the tone much?

Is the Accent a decent Trem compared to a Bigsby?
Anybody want to venture a description of how it works compared to a Bigsby (all my other guitars have Bigsbys and I love them!)

Will I need to change to a roller bridge when I eventually get a Trem?

Can I see some pics of 360s with Bigsbys?

accent is very decent trem, and yes roller bridge is ok but rattles ...normal bridge if you polish it and round the string slots will be all right. bigsby is excellent but to me it doesn't look right on 360...

Thanks for answering folks -(keep those pics coming!)

I truly LOVE my Bigsby Tele - I really tweek the Bigs bigtime.

Is the Accent capable of serious ups and downs and wiggles and pretty constant usage?

I ask that because I recently had a Strat, and I really really hated that trem

Yes.

To fit a B-5 bigsby, you will need to screw into the guitar's face. This will change the value for sure.....just go with the Accent vibrato made by Rickenbacker. Works great, and no marks left whatsoever.

Yes, and moreso than a Bigsby IMO, especially on the new ones. The vintage ones have action closer to that of a Bigsby.

Yes, and yes! :D

I am a whammy bar nut; all of mmy Rick six strins have Accents on them, and they all get lots of use.

I also own Gretsches, so I am fond of the Bigsby as well, but the Accent works great, it's simpler to string than even a Bigsby, and it has plenty of travel.
