Weight of RI horseshoe and hi gain pickups?

Post by Jim Dandy »

Can anyone tell me what the difference in weight is between the RI horseshoe pickup and the hi gain brigde pickup? Is it enough to change the balance of the bass?

Thanks! :)

Without taking them out of my basses I would say around 3/4 lb. difference, enough to feel it but it does not change the balance really. Actually, it may improve the balance depending on what you prefer and the kind of strap you use.

I think Jeffs about right. I took the shoes off of my old V63 bridge pup once out of boredom and was really surprised how heavy they actually were.
