360/12 V64 exotic TRC

Post by paul_yan »

There's a 360/12 V64 FG on e-Bay now that has a TRC whose lettering style is quite "exotic". Is there anything special about it?

Have you noticed that more and more legit Rics have fake TRC's on them these days?
Rickenbackers TRC policy (right or wrong) has created a situation where people are taking the TRC's off their guitars to sell at a premium on ebay, and then they replace them with ****.
If I was to sell my DG 620/6 with or without the original vintage gold TRC it would probably fetch around £1k.
I've already been offered more than £200 for the TRC alone.
One can understand the temptation.

Regardless of the TRC, that was a very nice guitar at that price.

I find it pretty incredulous that someone would pay £200 for a 620 TRC.

IIRC, Rob's 620 TRC was actually from a 660, gold plexi.

Still a bit much.

Agreed.

When the guitar was up on Ebay, a guy from Germany offered me 250 Euros (£216) for the TRC alone.
He had 100% feedback and seemed to deal a lot with Rickenbackers.

I was very tempted but didn't sell.

Oh, and I now have a spare gold TRC as my Blue Boy came with one as well as the original white.
Maybe I'll drop him a line. :)
