It doesn't matter whether I've got dots, lines, frets, or whatever color of strings, people still wonder what the heck I'm doing...

I don't know buddy, I think this cold came from another planet. Must have come with you FROM Cleveland, because my nose and ribs feel like they've been CLEAVED!
With this cold, flu/cold medicines are as useless and distracting as lines on a fretless bass!!
Wow, I like the way I put the topic back on track! *pats self on back*
Ouch, that hurt too!

You too Jeff!

Tony, that's quite a contraption - but it does kind of make your spine compress just looking at it. Maybe it should come with a couple of kneeling nubile maidens and you could rest it their shoulders as you play. I wondered about the knobs between the two basses though. Seems like you would always be hitting them as you're playing. "Windmilling" is a pretty important part of good fretless technique and showmanship (all the cool guys do it) and it requires an unobstructed space to do it well  .

I wouldn't have that problem as my fretless windmilling usually takes place around the 15 "fret" position. Yes, showmanship is extremely important in playing a fretless bass in front of an audience, that way they never hear the out of tune playing! Why else would Jaco have been so important in the history of fretless bass?

Yep, if you make it weird enough, fast enough and out of tune enough, they'll just think you're playing jazz and a true innovator.
