When did the 4003's get the full length inlays?

Post by Jim Dandy »

I've done a search, but can't seem to find out the date that the 4003's got the full lenth inlays. Could someone help me with this?

Thanks!

I think they re-introduced the full-width inlays with a new insert material (rather than a poured pearlescent resin) in 2008. Don't know exactly when in 2008, but I think that was the year.

I believe late winter to early spring. My 4003 was built the first week of May.

Paul. Seeing all you go through to pinpoint exacting dates on when certain colors and features were introduced/discontinued, you didn't bother to make a note of this?

For those keeping score, the first recorded sighting of the new full-width inlays was March 14th, 2008, and every instrument made afterward has had them. http://rickresource.com/forum/viewtopic ... dth+inlays

"Bother" is not the word. I was just lazy and didn't do a search as you did. I knew it was somewhere around here. But now I'll make a note of it! :D
