I'd like to see Montuzuma Brown or Autumglo added as a permanent finish. Alongside Fireglo that would allow two "burst" options along with the solids and mapleglo.

It would round things out nicely I believe.

Hey everyone!
It's been a long time.
I hope all is well at the RickResource.

I saw this picture posted and really like the color but I don't know what you call it.
Is this ruby red but bright from stage lights?

In my mind's eye I've always pictured a "burgundy burst" where the maple would be naked in the center then slowly transition the burst into the typical burgundyglo color depth at the edges, with white PG's of course.
Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed (and I mean that in an optimistic way).

Yes.... something like that, Ron, but with a far more gradual transition from the black to the grey.

That one is really 'clowny'..... like it was grey and they masked it before adding the black on the outer edges... yuck!!

Cuttlefish-glo; a dynamic finish with the ability to effect any color and/or pattern.

Sea Green!
It's so close to the celeste color they use on Bianchi bicycles.

So, you want a Rick to match your bicycle?

Hmm! I always liked the color of my old '70s Raleigh Super Course TT!

Jingle Jangle's color scheme is very close to what my stolen bass looks like except for the inlay work and my siding was a deep deep purple...almost black. Great color scheme. Love the inlay work.
Taht would be a cool color scheme for Ric to start shooting. LOL

Redburst (or red-and-black burst), like this model 1997 from 1966 (there's also one pictured in the Bacon and Day Rick book); as far as I can tell, it's the original finish:
1966 1997 Redburst
1966 1997 Redburst

I have always liked the short lived Desert Gold. Very classy looking in my opinion. Looks nicer in person than it does in web photos. On that note - relating to the differences in Ric colors as seen in person vs. on the web - I got a big shock when I saw and then bought a Turquoise Ric and was very shocked indeed to find when I viewed the guitar in person that it was bright metallic Green (really green) instead of the true Turquoise color I thought it would be based on pics shown on the web! Was mine an oddball or were they all like that ??

Color can be subjective. That TURQ guitar could have developed some yellowing of the conversion varnish over time, which would tend to green out the TURQ.

I have a sample of RIC TURQ that I use to match refins and every single TURQ guitar I've seen and compared to this sample in my shop, looks TURQ. Sone are a tad lighter (a bit more fleck) or darker (a bit more tint), but these very minor differences can be explained by paint mixing while spraying or spray technique. Putting the color on in light passes leads to a lighter color as the flecks of pearl migrate to the surface easier. Putting the same color on in wet passes causes the flecks to sing to the bottom of the layer, with more tint on top. This yields a somewhat deeper shade.

But never "bright green"!
