Personally I think that any MB Ric looks best with gold plastic.

On a cheerier note, I've finally found a good pix of The Beatles playing at Carnegie Hall.

Re: Groovy Beatles pictures
You know, no apologies needed, but those photos really freak me out. And to think it was just 16 short years later, and now its 30 years after that. There's always been something very prophetic about the Beatles to me, and those photos really sussed it for me.brammy wrote: ... my apologies in advance...
Can we have everything louder than everything else?
Re: Groovy Beatles pictures
George Harrison bought his used 1957 G6128T in 1961, and called it his first "really good" guitar.
He would refer to this model as "the Eddie Cochran/Duane Eddy guitar" and although some sources report that it was purchased in Hamburg, it was clearly bought in Liverpool.
"My first good guitar was the Duo Jet Gretsch. It wasn't easy to get an American guitar in Liverpool back in 1960 because of shortage of supply, and more important at the time, a severe shortage of cash. I saved my money from the gigs I had started playing, and one night in the Liverpool Echo I saw the advert under "For Sale." I rushed to the address that was given, with about 75lbs cash in my pocket and returned home the very pleased owner of that Gretsch. I have it 'till this day,...after playing it through the Hamburg days and Cavern years, tours of Europe to America in '64 and many, many of the Beatle Recordings."

Meanwhile, in the fall of '61 Ringo was rockin away as the lead guitarist for a group called "Ringo Starr and All-Starr Band"
