So sad!
Saw him on the Countdown special (in Australia) a year or two ago, he was ill then but still blitzed the whole concert.
He was really enjoying being up on that big stage and he still had "The Knack"
Bless you Doug!

Doug and I were not close, but knew each other through Ric stuff as well as through mutual friends. I sort of expected to hear this soon, due to the latest press releases, but it's still a drag.

I am sorry to hear about this too...
His cover of Buddy Holly's HEARTBEAT was one of my favorites... Of his songs, YOUR NUMBER OR YOUR NAME was his best I thought.

Re: R.I.P Doug Fieger of The Knack
Very sad.
I didn't even know he was sick.
I saw The Knack play in Honolulu about 7 or 8 years ago. The gig was relatively poorly attended and I was right up front singing along with every song. At one point Feiger acknowledged me with nod and a smile since he recognized that I knew the lyrics of most of the songs almost as well as he did. No big deal, but just a little anecdote. I never got a chance to meet him but he always struck me as a genuine person and a nice guy.

The most recent pic above is Doug's brother, by the way.

They blew me away a few years ago. Delivered a bone crushing powerpop performance in NYC.

Isn't that one pic of his famous lawyer brother?

Re: R.I.P Doug Fieger of The Knack
oh.... sorry 'bout that. Geoffrey Fieger is indeed a rich and well known lawyer. I never realized that he was brother of Doug. The most recent pic above is Doug's brother, by the way.

In 1994, Feiger represented Dr. Jack Kevorkian in the first of several doctor-assisted suicide trials. Kevorkian was acquitted in that trial and all subsequent trials where Fieger represented him. (Kevorkian was convicted when he represented himself in his last assisted suicide trial in 1999).

Note the cleaned up lyric "when she puts you in your place" which is not nearly as good as the original one.
Dang!!!! watch this one and not where Berton Averre's guitar strap falls off and has to be fixed by a roadie. The exact same thing happened when I saw them in Honolulu in roughly the same time period and I'm wondering if this is from the exact gig I was at.... it says "From the DVD "The Knack On Stage At World Cafe Live" (2007) recorded Nov. 7th, 2005", but doesn't say which Workd Cafe ..... I did see them at the Honolulu World Cafe (since closed).
.... and IF this video is of that gig, then THIS is me. That's exactly where I was standing that night.
Hmmmm I think it is!
