You decide...

Well, at least, he didn't use synthetic oil.
Re: IS THE TONE IN THE BODY OR THE PICKUPS?
Of course not. You use that to make synthesizers...jps wrote:Well, at least, he didn't use synthetic oil.
Pretty cool though, sounds better than I would have imagined...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Seems like a good way to keep your strings lubed...

Hmm. I'm a fan of Castrol for my vintage motorcycles.

Hmmm, Steinberger meets a can of oil...
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

Body, most definitely!
It had a real "tin" sound.

Very nice tone, really. I'm surprised.
All I wanna do is rock!

Just to give a serious answer for once, it has been my experience (with Fenders anyway) that the tone seems to follow the neck for some reason.
Jangle, Chime & Twang.

I may not hit the ball out of the park with this post but I hope to get to first base. The tone appears to be in the sweet spot. Time for a pickup game.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

That neck probably feels like a baseball bat neck. [ducks and runs]
I think JCF could play a strung up broomstick and make it sound good.

I agree, there was a noticeable difference in amplified tone for me after I switched necks on my Strat. Not huge, but it was there.Clint wrote:Just to give a serious answer for once, it has been my experience (with Fenders anyway) that the tone seems to follow the neck for some reason.
I think tone also depends on the person who's playing the guitar.

Re: IS THE TONE IN THE BODY OR THE PICKUPS?
True...when I haven't eaten in a few hours, my tone is more hollow.
A good bowl of chili gives me solid body/set neck sustain.
But I think my neck has nothing to do with tone.
