Another HRD Question

I've been sitting on this U.S. made HRD that I've never really warmed up to. I was thinking of trying out those SUBSTI-TUBE 928-PR from groove tubes and was wondering if anybody had tried it themselves. I've read that it can give it a voxy sound, is there any truth to this? does anyone believe there's any truth to this?
