Pickups on a 330/12

Post by faustus »

Just found this Ric 12 for sale in Sweden (that never happens!). Can not really identify the pickups, are they even original ones?

Those are toaster pickups. More than likely, they are not original, but they do make the essential Ric 12-string sound.

They kind of look like toaster pick ups but i cant say for sure maybe its my screen but does it look like there is a black border all the way round the pick up Instead of the two normal black stripes that are toasters.Hard to say not a great pic.

Yes, maybe a bad picture. But they do not look similar to these at all.

That is a real simple answer, I'd be wary. On the other hand - those look like toaster pickups. Makes one wonder why he won't answer a simple question - unless he doesn't know.

Ok! Got this answer: "Pickups are single coil hi-gain according to Ricks webpage".

I got hi-gains on my rick, and they look different. The seller has 3 Ricks up for sale, so he should be pretty aware?

Those are toaster pickup covers - regardless of what lies underneath.

Yup, no mistake about it-------those are toasters (or at least Hi Gains with Toaster covers).

Either way, it's an upgrade. Bonus!
