Young and Remembered Replacements

Post by indianation65 »

Not nearly enough live footage of one of the best, straight-forward, bar-based rock and roll bands ever...The Replacements! Please to Meet Me is fantastic.
Tommy Stinson was only 13 or so when he started playing bass for them!

Great! I saw them on the tour for 'Tim' and it was everything I'd hoped from my favourite band of the era. I remember Tommy playing a Rick that had a Fender logo attached and bottle caps that had been spray painted orange glued on. They kicked into one of my favourite tracks on the album (Kiss Me on the Bus) and the second bridge the band fell apart as it's different than the first bridge. They gave up on it and started playing 'Hitching a Ride' by Vanity Fair! Pure Mats magic.

Have to say ... my favorite ever, and nobody believes me. Paul Westerberg is my all-time hero.

Mr. Westerberg is still writing, playing, recording, husbandying, selling First Act guitars and singing with gravel in his mouth...when all you know is how to R-n-R, you accept it!
