New Ric on the way ...

Post by steverok »

Just ordered a brand new 330-12 JG from Dave's Guitar. I am expecting it will compliment my 360-12 with toasters in a good way. I'll post some pic's when I get it, hopefully by the end of the week. I haven't added a new Ric to my arsenal in five years, let's hope it's a keeper !

Woo hoo ! New Ric in the house !! UPS delivered my brand new 330-12 JG from Dave's Guitar today. I played it for awhile before I had to go back to work, but so far so great - I love it !! I also have a 2005 360-12 FG with toasters, for which I had to re-design the nut, because Ric was making them so cramped back then. The difference between the stock, 300-series, 12-string nut from then, compared to now, is like night and day. It can probably still be improved, but not by very much. The hi-gain sound on this 330-12 is just great. While the clarity and sparkle of the toasters can't be argued, I suspect the sound of this new axe may ultimately be more versatile. I look forward to doing lots of comparisons, and I'll be sure to get some pictures up later today.

Hallelujah Rickenbacker - YOU RULE !!

Congrats Steve !!
There will be a lot of interest of your comparision of High Gains/Toasters on these two different 12-strings.

Here's a video A/B of me doing a song written by a friend of mine. I tried to embed the youtube videos but don't know how (can't find the movie ID). To those of you who wish I would shut up and just play the guitar, I apologize upfront.

Steve, thanks for sharing. I'm very hard pressed to say which one sounded better. However, there's one thing I did notice, you can definitely tell that the 330/12 JG has a routed headstock.
