It's my first Ric, though I've worshiped the instrument since I first started playing in 1983. While I play lots of rock (alternative and otherwise) and jazz, I've been sitting in with various 'hip cats' here in the SF Bay Area over the past ~3 years. One of those 'hip cats' is promoting her new album, which she just finished recording in Tuscon/Austin--she calls her sound, 'Tortilla Western.' Different stuff, for sure--think global folk music with a Mexican twist (she'll bust out the accordion sometimes).
Anywho, I'm sitting in with her on Saturday, March 6 in Berkeley, CA @ ~9pm. She's doing a live radio show on KALX (Cal Berkeley's radio station), which can be streamed live via internet. I'll debut my new Ric, using it for most (if not all) of the tunes (I have a Benavente fretless I may use on one or two songs). I'm so excited to debut my Ric, I just had to tell y'all!
