Push-Pull Installed.... AMAZING!!!
Just had them installed I LOVE IT!!! Although I don't think i'll ever use the "vintage" setting, it's nice to have it at my disposal.

Don't say you'll never use the vintage position, I find it quite useful in a band situation.

Awesome mod to have! I've never considered it.

I bypassed the caps completely in all of my Ric guitars. I'm never going back.

Re: Push-Pull Installed.... AMAZING!!!
This would be a good time for me to mention that the push-pull switch has recently been upgraded.
It's now a CTS component, like the rest of our pots, with the same taper, value, and construction as is typical on a Rickenbacker guitar. The switch is a SPST action with proper solder lug termination. The overall depth has been reduced so that it will retrofit most older solid body instruments without modification.

Thanks Mr Hall!

Re: Push-Pull Installed.... AMAZING!!!
I just heard the price of older larger push-pulls break through the roof
Re: Push-Pull Installed.... AMAZING!!!
The old one aren't larger actually, just deeper but skinnier. The new units are decidedly more robust and rugged. Furthermore, the old Alpha push-pulls are a commonly available commodity part for anyone that wants the additional DPDT poles that we never utilized. And if someone prefers soldering to those fussy little solder lugs . . . well, make sure your eyeglass prescription is up to date!jdogric12 wrote:I just heard the price of older larger push-pulls break through the roof
Re: Push-Pull Installed.... AMAZING!!!
I used one of the older push-pulls from RIC and wired a HB pickup for series/parallel. The lugs are crowded but I had no trouble with it.

You probably have no trouble hand soldering this, too, right?ken_j wrote:I used one of the older push-pulls from RIC and wired a HB pickup for series/parallel. The lugs are crowded but I had no trouble with it.

Aw heck, those are easy! I can even hand solder there guys:jps wrote:You probably have no trouble hand soldering this, too, right?ken_j wrote:I used one of the older push-pulls from RIC and wired a HB pickup for series/parallel. The lugs are crowded but I had no trouble with it.
Of course, a setup like this certainly helps:
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
