Lots of really good people seem to step up when the chips are down. Seems to me you are one of them.
I hope Michael gets to play that thing until the fingerboard wears through to the truss rods.

Hey John,

Thanks for sharing this. It's stories like this that brings life into perspective, and affirms that good health and well-being are really the most important things that we have. All of us on the forum, as musicians, are uniquely gifted people with talents that many wish they could have, but don't. The greatest way to give thanks for our abilities is to help those who are less fortunate than we are, and if we can use our musical skills to provide that help, there's nothing better.

Music is certainly a powerful force that brings much joy into a world that sorely needs it.

Go, Michael! You're not done yet.

While reading down this moving thread I was thinking about an appropriate post to send my sympathies , but you , Bob, found exactly the words I intended to say.
Love and dedication, besides music, is what makes life worth living.

Great story, John, thanks for sharing it! I, too, will hope that he has a full recovery from the leukemia.

Be sure to get the serial number of the 362/12 when you get a chance to see it ...

Thanks for that John, a beautiful story.

I hope the young fellow has long and successful career in music.

A friend of mine was diagnosed with Leukemia as a teenager in the early seventies. She is still going strong!!!

Its nice when you get a story like that! I sure hope that it's all good from now on!

"I'm not done yet"
My Grandfather, who was dying of various things, was on his deathbed in hospital. He had been a brilliant, but hard man (I only knew him once he was a mellow and rather caring old man) Very cathloic and a hard drinker. A walking paradox!

Anyhow the local priest (whom he would have known for years) came to do the last rights thing to make sure Jim Macready was good to go. When the priest arrived at the bedside, My grandfather said "Away with you, I'm not done yet". Even then the old bugger still had some spark left!
If I remember right, he lasted a few more days and only died when he wanted to..

This is not meant to be a sad story at all, just a reflection on those who have the strength to say the immortal words "I'm not done yet!"
