Dragged out an amp from the spare room and spent a couple of very enjoyable hours playing in the new strings before r-checking the intonation. Perfect.
I did notice, however, that there was a problem with the guitar, - it missed the odd note and fumbled the occasional chord. ....... what's that you say? It's not the guitar, its the player?
Hmmm ..... I'm afraid you're right ...... it's getting on for 20 years since I did any serious guitar work and my playing skills have moved from being merely awful to totally abominable.
Had a good time though, - there's something magical about brand new strings, because they sound better I always felt I was playing better. ..... just take a seat over there Mr Emmanual and I'll show you how it's done
New Strings and a Rickenbacker, ...... it's good for the soul.
