I decided to order a new Rickenbacker
so...
Today I went to my music instrument store of confidence.
I'm looking for a 4004Cii Cheyenne Translucent Blue, but i want a 5 string model.
On Italian Catalog is not avaible model, but I am asking, by the store, to Italian dealer if is possible make a custom order.
I know, the wait will be long, but I can wait.
What do you think about my idea?

A cool idea, Mario. But RIC is not making the 5 string Cheyenne. It's a discontinued model. There are no 5 string bass options right now.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

Re: I decided to order a new Rickenbacker
You can not order a five-string Cheyenne II right now, even though it is still shown in the illustrative poster "catalog." Your dealer should see that it is not in the current price list. RIC made the Cii/5 for a short period, but apparently some owners found that the pickups were not providing complete coverage to span the five strings, so RIC halted production until they can develop or use some other pickup.
Some owners have converted four-string Cheyenne IIs into five strings using the stock humbucking pickups, but these have narrower necks than the rare Cii/5, so the strings are closer together.

Don't feel forced, the Cii is an awesome bass!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: I decided to order a new Rickenbacker
Yes, I wanted a Cii5, but "settled" for a 4 string Cii - it's a fantastic bass and if you want the low end, you and always string it BEAD - the Cii handles that quite well...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Re: I decided to order a new Rickenbacker
Hey, the scandinavian distributor still lists C64 and C64s basses (even after they raised the prices). They also have 700s and 730s acoustic guitars and (drumroll) the Jazz-Bo! But no five-strings, though.
Good luck with the 4004, even if you have to settle with 4 strings!

I think the Scandinavian distributor is still going with the catalog/poster. The Jazzbo has been on there for years, and as far as I know, none (except for Paul W.'s homemade one) have been produced.
