Like many kids in the 1960's, I got into blues music via our friends from the other side of the pond...John Mayall w/Clapton The Beno Lp..Jeff Beck..Yardbirds etc. The blues progression lends itself to so many styles that even folks who say they don't care for blues music , listen to the form without knowing..after the Lp John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers came the Hard Road Lp with Peter Green..still one of my favorite tunes ever...

Great stuff, G!
Like you, I had my blues years in the sixties. A good friend and I were influenced by Albert King: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJ9kADotUCc
I kid you not, we called our blues rock band "Rooty Kazooty". We thought it fit well with other names of the time ... Blues Magoos, Electric Prunes, Strawberry Alarm Clock ... any guesses as to how successful we were?

Early Rolling Stones and Manfred Mann's first album are what brought it to my attention-no genuine blues got air time here back then.
