360 Bridge parts

Greetings everyone.

I haven't been on the forum for a loooooog time, my loss. I have a lot of questions, but I will narrow it down to 2 for this post.

I have a 1970 360 MG that is missing the bridge springs : The intonation springs, the height adjustment springs and the springs on the saddle adjustment screw. Where is the best place to get them?

#2: The neck pickup lost it's "pick up" so I would like to either get it rewound to specs. or do it myslef if it isn't too complicated for a novice. I believe it is a high gain. Single threaded posts. I bought a new high gain which looks like a mushroom cap on the post, but both of my pick ups are just plain threated posts, no tops, etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike, welcome back.


#1 ---- a 1970 Rickenbacker bridge shouldn't have any springs. I think at that point they were still using the 60s style bridges. No adjustment springs---just a rubber o-ring on each allen-key screw. No springs on the intonation either, just the screw, the saddle, and a locking nut on the other end.

#2 --- Contact Sergio Silva, our resident Ric-pickup expert. He's in Portugal, so you'd have to mail the pickup off to be rewound, but he's done a few for me and others on the board-----great prices, and great service. He can be found in the Pickup subforum in the "Vibrola" section. (His user name is "Rickcrazy")

Mike, how about some pics of your guitar. 1970 was a low production year, and a transition year for Rics. The pickups you have are the early high gains, that we call transition, some what rare. The headstocks were often bound from this year as well.

Thanks for the quick responses... I don't have any o-rings on the bridge set, so I will need to find some and 1 locking nut is also missing.

I will look up Sergio's info. and contact him, would like to have it back on the Ric where it belongs.

I will post a pic of both the 360 and the 4001, they look like cousins!!!

Either use the "File upload" feature below to extract them from your hard drive (I reduce mine using MSpaint, until they are small enough). It will then post them up as a permanent link with the picture hosted here on the RRF.

The other way is to use a photo hosting site like Photobucket, for free....just upload the pictures to there from your hard drive. It will then provide you a .jpg link, then just insert that link between [img] and [/img ]

and it will appear. Magic.

Are the tuners on the 360 original Grovers?

Hey David,

No they were added about 1980. I still have the original Kluson Delux tuners safely put away. I never get rid of anything....Ask my wife!!

I added the strap locks couple years ago and still have the original pegs.

Both guitars play incredibly well, use them all the time. I play in a contemporay worship and praise band, but we also do an oldies set. Get a lot of compliments on the pair. Thanks for asking.
