You should at least say something relevant to the topic such as, "Wow, I love Fireglo!", instead of just admitting to bumping your count. But, I suppose honesty is good for something...

I just picked this up on the bay. I loved its yellowness, but after it arrived, as I sat with it by the window to get acquainted, I noticed some definite pinkishness. Nothing at all like the golden tones of George's original 12er that adorned the nearby cover of Beatles Gear: All the Fab Four's Instruments from Stage to Studio.

And then when I took it away from the window...poof...the pink was gone. Held under incandescent light, it was warmer and yellower, and struck by natural light, it went all cotton candy on me. Has anyone else noticed this?

For a moment, it brought me a feeling of utter contentment with my Fireglo.

And then the moment passed, and I formulated a plan to buy another Fireglo -- maybe a 330 this time -- and keep it if it's better, and unload this one. In fact, life can become a perpetual Fireglo Tournament, where I buy a FG guitar, compare it to the FG I've already got, and ditch the lesser of the two FGs.

Yes, colors look quite different under different light. Reds, oranges, and yellows are especially susceptible here. My other hobby/business is making scale models. Enthusiasts in this hobby can be very particular about getting the right color on the model. I always consider what lighting will be on the display before I paint. International Orange (Federal Standard paint No. FS 12197) in sunlight (and strobe light) is a brilliant red-orange, but under fluorescent light, it looks dull and yellowish. If I make a model that has International Orange on it and it will be displayed under fluorescent light, I paint it with a much redder color that looks right under those lights. But in daylight/strobe, it looks too red.

In most cases, your guitar will be seen under artificial light indoors, so I wouldn't worry about how it looks under sunlight. Actually, the more UV light it receives, the more it will turn yellow -- eventually!

Window light can be very blue given it's higher color temperature, especially, if the window is facing North. This will make the colors cooler looking which will add some pinkishness® to the overall color.
