A couple of times, at some of our local Mini Con jams, in our salute to Ric artists we've tried the Mighty Lemon Drops number "Inside Out"

I was a fan and bought the music. I saw them in 1990, in Dallas at Deep Ellum Live on the Laugh Tour. John Wesley Harding and The Ocean Blue opened the shows. Good stuff and really cool to see such young men make it! The Ocean Blue were just high school cats from Hershey. If I'm not mistaken the Drops were also Fender influenced.

Thanks for posting...I used to play their record "Happy Head" on the radio all the time. It is a must own for any who loves the jangly tight drivin' pop arrangements. I've seen them live, I remember the 340 as well as hearing a Micro Frets for the first time too....I also remember a Vox Acoustic Mark VI 12 string electric too...THey are some mighty strange lookin blokes to look at , but heck who cares, they lay it down!!
If you buy a copy of Happy Head and don't like it, heck, I'll buy if off you!

I just checked out the Rhino boxed set, The Brit Box, from our local public library, and that's where I heard the MLD (specifically, "My Biggest Thrill")--even though I remember hearing and reading about them a bit when I was in high school and college back in the day. But the boxed set is making me realize that somehow or another, I missed most of the Brit pop stuff in the late 80s and early-to-mid-90s (The Smiths and The Cure being two exceptions). Oh well, it's nice to discover something new, even (I mean especially!) at my age. I will definitely get me some more Mighty Lemon Drops!

I love these guys. Seen them live. Very cool! Love playing "Inside Out" at the jams, wouldn't mind covering some others, but every time I pull out a new song suggestion I get one of those "Who are these guys?!" looks from some of the local forumites. If I pull out a chart for "Hypnotized", or something even more obscure like "Jean's Not Happening" by the "Pale Fountains", I'll probably get beaten over the head with my own Rickenbacker.

I always remember walking past a old record shop in town and the LP World without end was in the window and i always thought that the cover looked quite good (Never judge a book by it cover i know) so about a week later i bought it and took it home and was pleasantly surprised I always liked Fall down like rain Still sounds great.Lots of rickenbackers and a great sound.
