Welcome to the RRF, Frank! Any news on the new bridge? If it's as well-designed as the Bezel, then we have something to look forward to.

Welcome to the forum, Frank. Do you also play Rickenbacker basses?
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Welcome to the forum Frank. We appreciate your fine contribution to this thread. Oh and btw you have not broken any rules you are simply providing information on how to properly install your product. That's how I view it. :D

I've owned many Rics over the years. Some not for very long. They were always missing a little something in the sound to me. My favorite up until I bought a late 2009 4003 was a mid 70's 4000s I had bought used in the 80s. I sold that one 5 years ago and regret it. It was red,no binding, dot inlays, with a single pickup (Treble) and most importantly to me, it had a set net,not neck thru.
I've noticed that a bolt on neck bass has a different treble response than a neck thru or set neck. They (bolt ons) seem to sound more open or alive to me. I think the set neck is a good compromise between the increased sustain of a neck thru and the live open sound of a bolt on. This is a generalzation, everything else being equal. I've come across some pretty dead or flat sounding Fenders in my time and some really alive sounding neck thru basses.
All that being said, I'm pretty happy with the 2009, late Oct. build date, 4003 jetglo I currently own. I did notice that the treble pickup sounds clearer if I stick a standard mono cable in the ric-o-sound jack for whatever reason. In this configuration you only get sound from the treble pickup, but at least on my bass, the treble pickup is clearer used that way.
I'm thinking about rewinding some current hi gains by hand in a scatterwound pattern. I think this would be a cool blend of a toasters scatterwound clearness and a hi gains higher output output and adjustable poles.

Doing this keeps the two discrete harnesses for either pickup separated electronically, so the loading to ground is cut in half. That's why it sounds clearer. This is common to all stock Rics and is one reason why ROS is so fun.

Just got one on the 4003 and it is nice all around. Easy to install and fit perfectly.

Hi,
I just had a look at Frank's website to see if there was any info on the bridge, & there is my pic of my MG 4003 sporting the standard bezel I fitted last year ( see avatar). 8) 8) 8)

I was wondering the same thing - one in chrome would look great, especially on a fireglo finish. I just picked up a second standard bezel from Frank for my new 4003 mapleglo (the first one was installed in my '08 jetglo 4003), and I was thinking one of his bezels in gloss-finished walnut would look great with the natural finished mapleglo...
