Wishbone Ash
I was just listening to this on vinyl and thought I'd look it up on youtube and found a pretty cool version. It's probably been discussed here before, but this song is always worth another listen. That Ric tone is very pronounced on the vinyl. Killer song on a killer album, and a hella nice looking 4003 as well. Enjoy.

Here's another from the same great album and the same tv performance:
Re: Wishbone Ash
Brian - Wishbone Ash is always a good listen - saw them in Chicago back in '72. That is an early 70s 4001 bass. Thanks.
If I counted right, that's a 21 fretter!

Yep was a good band. Live Dates was my favourite, they sounded like that live when I saw them in '76 or '77.(faded old memory)
Martin Turner wore a Gibson Thunderbird then.Laurie Wisefield on Strat then.Played Ted Turner's parts well.
Camel opened for them ,and I thought was the better act,but not by much.

All off Argus, a great album.
Re: Wishbone Ash
I met Martin Turner about 18 months ago when I was selling my 73 BG 4001. He was staying in Sarasota, and wanted one that colour to replace the one he had, which had the headstock broken in Amstrerdam on a European tour around 73 he told me.
We talked for a couple of hours and he said he really liked that first Ric bass he had. The funny thing was, when he tried out my FG 73 as well, he immediately commented on what a much more louder bass it was compared to the BG, and wanted to buy that one instead!
