Well, that Fireglo finish alone sure smacks of '67. Jackplate must be a repro?

It's definitely an oddity. 21 fret, full width inlays, non-checkerboard binding, toaster pickups. Beautiful guitar!

Kris, a double-bound 360 of any era would have standard white binding only, no CB, except for possibly some super special one-off or something. :D

Very nice, Marvin! :D

Here is a pic of my March '67 330 for comparison.

Marvin that is one nice guitar, and very valuable. We can only guess what the story is, and the sellers story would help. It could have been returned by a customer for repair and got the new jackplate, but the 1974 TRC seems weird. The guitar could have been broken and a new body was built in 1974. It could be a customer requested a double bound, and they went into their "old stock" and finished this for them because none were being made at that time.

Features:

The knobs have the little "rectangle" white mark which ended in 1967 (no feature start or end time is set in stone). This is strange because if the guitar was old stock and did not have electronics yet, how did it have 60's knobs?

The current tuners are correct for that size headstock (the brushings look like new repro's, or conversion type). It once had some other tuners on, hence the extra holes, the shaft holes are most likely widened, and you can see washer depressions on the front.

The Truss Rod Cover is a 1974, are there any extra holes under it (the screws do not look original)?

The walnut stripe is thick, which they were not doing in 1974

The bridge saddles look like 70's. Look under the bridge and see if there are two raised circles.

Jackplate, seems like it was made out of sequence at special request, which they did for repairs.

Does the neck pickup have long or short poles? Meaning: long poles have a route under the pickup, short poles do not.

It would be nice to see the thickness of the body in the control cavity and the markings written inside.

This may be a Scott Jennings special. What did we do to tick him off?

Maybe I am being simplistic, but to me this guitar body/neck/headstock looks like a mid-'60s 360 OS sent to the factory for repair and returned with some 1974-era parts, like TRC and wiring harness and possibly bridge, and a "factory repair" jackplate. The double-line Kluson tuners look period-correct for mid-'60s, but perhaps were replaced at some point and then reinstalled.

That's a really nice example of a `67 OS. Collin especiallly loves faded FG finishes like that-probably drooled on his computer. ;)

I wouldn't worry too much about any replacement parts, since whatvever's been replaced, it looks cosmetically correct, especially with the Klusons; someone could have replaced the Klusons with Grovers, then later removed them and reinstalled the Klusons.

If it's not too personal a question, make everyone's day and tell us what bargain garage sale price you bought it for. :D

I would add that the screws on the Kluson's, look original, but not 60's, and would be correct for a 1974.

I would also love to know the garage sale price. :D

first thanks so much for all the input on the rick!! i have always thought i would like to have a 60's model but never really had the money for one. my thoughts were to figure out what it was for sure and get input on wheather to put it back to original. don't know about value on something like this is and if its worth it to change things or leave it alone. she plays really nice so no real need to do anything. i figured somone would want to know the garage sale price it was $450.00. i would like to here any input on changes. thanks again!!

$450??? Wow!! I think it would have cost more than that to buy it new in 1967.

Marvin the pickups would sell for $500 for the set. Nice job.

To put it stock here's what you would need (and it would take time to gets these):
1. 1967 wiring harness $200
2. 60's TRC with screws $150- $200
3. Jackplate, $150-$200
4. Kluson slot screws for the tuners $20ish
5 Roller bridge $150ish
6. Silver case $250-$200

The best way to get this stuff would be to find a 1967 360/365 with all original parts, but with an obvious neck repair which can be had cheap for about $1500 and swap the parts and have two cool guitars. One a player and the other an expensive player. Cheers on the find!

David, I'm not sure why you quoted for a roller bridge, since his guitar has an "R" tail piece. The wiring harness and jack plate will be the toughest finds..

i have a lot of fun ahead of me on this guitar. will take more pics and see about some of the questions raised: under the bridge and pickups, depth of wiring harness area etc. buy the way it came with a silver case which has blue velvet lining and from what i know looks to era correct. having more fun than a guy could hope for, yah hoooo!!!!
