check out this paint job!

Post by gbarchus »

I just spotted this 4001v63 with a unique paint job. What do you think?

Someone tried to make it look like what Paul McCartney did to his Rick.

Nice job, Paul!

I wonder why no one cracks their guards to match Sir Paul's?

Even after all these years, I have to wonder - What was Paul thinking? I mean, it's not like George's 'Rocky' or John's psychedelically painted J160E. It looks like he dropped - not one, but two! - cans of paint on it.

I think it would look way better with the small, non-scooped 70's surround and a 70's hi-gain.

YMMV

They probably sold the horseshoe seperately for a high price.

What a shame to ruin a perfectly good factory finish....

Yeah, I don't get why people do this to a perfectly good finish either, but I'm sure I'm also the subject of criticism in some circles when it comes to modding the pickups and electronics so whatever... c'est la vie. If you own it, you can screw it up however you darn well please.

Interesting no one thought poorly of Paul when he did it to his rare 4001S lefty......
