Searchers Bass Drum Logo

Post by admin »

I have had considerable difficulty finding a photo of The Searchers in which Chris Curtis' bass drum head displays a logo. But thanks to Michael Denger, here is a photo in which Chris can't seem to decide whether it should go on the drum or not. I would like to know the story behind this if anyone has additional information.

I remember a bass drum head from the Searchers' appearances on "Shindig. I remember that the tail of the first "r" curled under the "c". Don't remeber if the 2d "r" curled under the second "s", but it may have.

John: Do you have a photo of this Shindig appearance?

Peter,

No, I don't. But there's a VHS Video Series out for the show, and I think they're on at least one of the tapes

Here is another photo of The Searchers' Bass Drum logo during the time that Chris Curtis was the drummer and Tony Jackson was still with the group.Image

The picture sleeve for the Swedish issue of Take Me For What I'm Worth (miss-spelt as Whort!) has a similar drum logo - it is on the Albums & singles section of my Searchers Images & Links page at http://alancheshire.tripod.com/searchers.html

Thanks Alan I have visited your site and viewed the photo. It is, without question, a black and white photo taken at the same time as the first color photo on this topic shown above. It would seem that there were at least three different logos on Curtis' bass drum. I am still looking for a photo of the bass drum logo that was used on "Shindig."

Has anyone over the years seen Chris Curtis drum live after the Searchers?
