In 1986 I was in Zaph's Music in North Philly. There were two used Ricks hanging up, a fireglo 360 and an azureglo 620. The 360 was a hundred dollars more and I didn't have the dough, so I bought the 620. My complex about wanting a 360 lasted nearly 20 years and I finally sold the 620 and bought a newer 360 with some dough left over....I can now afford another 620 and now I'm on a quest to find my old 620...ugh! (who's got it??)

If I recall this seems pretty accurate...the 620 had more punch, but I also like complexity:

Really, you can't go wrong with either.
I think as one digs deeper into Rickdom, you may have to get quite a few of them as they all do something a little different... :D

Thanks for your comments everybody, it feels good to finally be a proud Rickenbacker owner myself, but like you say, this may only be the beginning.. You know the saying: "How many guitars do you need? Only one more.." Come to think of it, a 620/12 would be really cool.. ;-)

Yeah they're mine, got the 360 4 years ago, just got the 620/12 in Dec, after a 2 year wait, but most dealers now have em in stock for awhile at least

OK.. Lucky you! But I guess I have to wait a while before I can buy any more Rickenbackers, but I'll put a 620/12 or 660/12 on my wish list.. ;-)

Yeah, nice Ketel. That finish on it has to be one of the most polished and brilliant Rics I've ever seen !
Enjoy -- and start planning your next Ric acquisition... :D
