Very cool, Collin. Which one do you find more versatile? If that cherry ES-335 had a stop tailpiece, it would have a lot of Clapton vibe going for it:

Half the reason I bought it! (or at least why I like block inlays so much).

Just by the very nature of the "addition" of a bigsby, the red one is more "versatile," but I think the '59 is a much better playing and sounding ES-335.

Still love the '63 though, I just need to get some repairs done on it.

Anybody know some good Gibson repair people? (like for finish work...)

Yes, but he passed away a little over a year ago.

Ah, bummer.

I haven't really looked around much, but there has to be somebody who can do the Gibson cherry dye finish etc...

I recently got shafted by a seller. Won a Yamaha DX7 with a flight case for $169 almost 2 months ago. Finally got Ebay involved & was given a full refund today. First time I ever had to give negative feedback.

Collin, before he retired from Gibson, he was their special finish/refinisher. In his basement there is still a large shelving unit with scraps and pieces of all kinds of exotic woods from leftovers, cutoffs, and samples Gibson had received or used over the decades he worked there. Kalamazoo Gibson years.

What about Heritage - all ex-Gibson people?

What would it take to send it to the Memphis factory? Can that be done?
