I like the brief "Old Grey Whistle Test" reference too.

Nice! I love Alexei Sayle.

Here is quite possibly his finest moment. 8)

Great stuff, and as always, it 'reminds me of a story'...

My brother and I were travelling around New Zealand one year after spending a season on the ice...we found ourselves in a Laundromat washing clothes (in Dunedin, maybe?). Outside, a group of three young 'punks' came sauntering past. The 'ringleader', a particularly unsavory looking kid, came bursting through the door with his mates in tow and rushed up to my brother. "Am I wearing something of yours?" he demanded. The surreal context, the absurdly non-sequitor question and the guy's insane accent caused my brother to ask him to repeat the question a couple of times. Once we understood the question and my brother answered in the negative, the guy says "Well then, why're you 'givin' me the evils'?" Eventually, he realized a) we were Americans, b) there were two of us and c) we had no idea what he was on about, at which point he grabbed his cohorts and propelled them back out onto the sidewalk, and an international incident was averted.
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

That has all the makings of a great comedy skit right there. :D

I don't think he's even wearing Docs in that skit.

Well maybe they're not technically "boots" but the thick soles give them away as Docs. I have two pairs of Doc shoes I bought in 1993 for work - they're still going strong!
BTW John, the actor you thought may be Craig Ferguson is actually Rik Mayall.

Ahhh, thanks Steve. Wasn't sure but take 15 years off Ferguson and it might have been. Now I know.
