fripp and belew used the jc-120 for years in the '80's crimson. check out the live "fridays" vids on youtube of thela or elephant talk. great stuff on a jc. a local guitarist from gamalon , george paleo uses one with a strat and gets an amazine tone, which blows away those refrigerator sized amps. he plays with some buddies of mine here in a band formerly called "rockstar" now called "forewarned". i look forward to seein' george rip it up in april. love that minimalist approach.

here's the fridays vids... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl-AItoqTWk

btw...belew remind you of adam sandler ???

Belew is one of my favourite musicians of all time! I also love the Belew-Fripp-Levin-Bruford Crimson lineup. They were definitely rockin' the JC-120s! :)

I definitely agree. You can get them used for a song, and they almost never seem to break. I've used mine on and off for years and always end up going back to it.

I've used a JC120 for 20 years, and it sounds great with the 360/12C63 (or STRAT) with the chorus on. With my stereo Ricks (360 and 370 high-gains), I tend more toward two simultaneous Rick TR25's via Rick-O-Sound.

Congratulations on the JC77, Peter!

Although I've never seen or heard a JC77, I've engineered and produced many songs using the JC120's for clean tone guitar parts and it's real easy to get a glassy celestial chime out of them. I believe a Rick 12-string would sound heavenly though a JC!

FYI, when the onboard "Chorus" is engaged, the left speaker emits the dry sound while the right one puts out the chorus effect. Miking up the 2 speakers individually with 2 identical mics and then pan them left and right will give you a big wide lush sound that I'm sure you'll love!
