Look-ee what I got today for $125
A gnarly 1982 4001. All original, but has a "custom" paint job. Looks like it may have been Jetglo originally. Posting some pictures for your amusement. Not quite the Bad Ronbo find of the bass under the front porch, but a fun score none the less. Will refinish at some point, or at worse case the TRC is worth the $125. Also, the serial number is VD- kind of appropriate

Excellent score!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: Look-ee what I got today for $125
Awesome find! I'd sand it down and give it an oiled and waxed finish like the first 4004's, then clean everything up and reassemble with a new set of strings. You'll be surprised how light and well it plays.

That's awesome! HousepaintGlo!
Re: Look-ee what I got today for $125
It was on a local craigslist. Guy bought it like that 15 years ago, thought he'd refinish it eventually, and it sat in the case for the 15 years. He was asking $125 as advertised, I gave him the full amount and boogied out of there like I pulled off the great train robbery
Back looks sparkly metallic- maybe spraypaint. Front looks latex like house paint.
Re: Look-ee what I got today for $125
Yep, the front looks just like the paint on my house, only a better job...
