Post by BAD RONBO, KiLLeR DWaRfS »

what bass was used to record "love hurts" by nazareth ? sounds like a rick/gibson/alembic with that low hollowness tone.
anyone know for sure because we could guess forever ! ?

I found a few Youtube clips of them lipsynching on TV in the mid 70's. Not that those would necessarily have any relation to what was used in the studio, but one clip shows a Jazz bass and the other one features a Thunderbird.

well...it can't be the jazz, but i could see the thunderbird for the hollow growl.

I also doubt it was a Jazz Bass. Sounds like it could be T-Bird to me.

I believe Scotty knows or used to know family and perhaps even members of the band..............perhaps he could have his arm twisted enough to enquire. He loves beer and Ricks you know. Or is that Ricks and beer, I always get confused about the order of the two.
